Blackjack - Win or Lose, Tips On Playing

In todays world, blackjack is one of the most popular card games. The game itself, is not hard to learn or play. Unlike poker, 2 pairs or triples will not be found in a blackjack game. Plus, your memory has little effect on the game itself.
In blackjack, the object of the game is to score 21 points with the 2 cards that you are dealt. When a player goes over 21, he or she has busted. During the deal, both players receive 2 cards with 1 card face up, and 1 card face down. After the deal, the player must decide whether to “hit” or “stand”. When a player says to “hit”, they will be dealt another card. When a player says “stand”, that player thinks they are close enough to 21 to win the game. Players can draw as many cards as they want in order to obtain 21. If a player is dealt 21 points, that is called blackjack.
However, there are people who have devised some tips and strategies to improve your chances of winning against the other player(s). Here is a list of tips that some player(s) use to improve their chances of winning the game.
1. If a player is dealt 17 or higher, it is always better to stand. If the player has any number from 13 to 16, and the dealers card showing is 6 or lower, it is better to stand. As the player, if you are dealt a combination which equals 13 to 16 and the dealers card showing is 7 or more, it is to your advantage as the player to ask for a hit.
The theory behind this is if the dealer is showing a card of 6 or lower, the dealer will ask for another card, assuming that the card face down is a 10. The player(s) then assume that the dealer is banking on a bust hand. Odds are against the dealer drawing a card 5 or lower.
The rule of thumb: player(s) should always assume that the dealers down card is a 10.
2. When player(s) are dealt aces or 8’s, odds show that it is better to split them, regardless of the dealer’s card showing.
What does a split mean ? When the player(s) are dealt two identical cards, they have the option of playing those cards separately, which would allow them two hands to play. If either hand totals are above what the dealer is holding, the player(s) then win the game.
3. Player(s) should remember not to split 10’s or face cards. Odds are then against a winning hand, or the player(s) end up with a busted hand.
4. If the dealer is showing a 4,5, or 6, it would be better for the player(s) to stand. If the dealer is showing a 2,3, or 7, it would then be better for the player(s) to hit. Again, this is assuming that the dealers card face down is a 10.
5. In order to win, player(s) should always remember not to split 4’s, 5’s, or face cards. Odds are against the player(s) winning if they do.
Naturally, gambling is a game of chance, but with keen observation and strategies, the odds of winning are possible.
